Looking Forward (February 2020 Update): Don’t Worry, Be . . .

Happy Taylor

Can you believe it’s that time again? This is FirewaterCorp‘s quadmonthly “Looking Forward” report for February 2020.

This report is based on the conceit, the stolen bit of wisdom, that happiness is derived from the satisfaction achieved through crossing items off of lists during the previous four months and multiplying this result by the sheer amount of entertainment planned for the next four months. The anticipation of future entertainment is more heavily weighted, of course, since happiness means looking forward to something.

Our mission statement is, as always, “Read. Play. Watch.” And then: “Write About It.”

By the way, that happy dog in the picture above is the late, great Taylor Ann, during her first time seeing the ocean.  That was a good day.

These include the next seasons of Star Trek: Discovery and The Orville. The fifth and final season of Lucifer will also be airing this year with sixteen episodes. If it releases before June, I’ll work that into the schedule as well. I haven’t seen a release date yet.

There are other series that I plan to watch, but may not get around to before the next update. These are Vikings: Season 6 (final season), Outlander: Season 3, Supergirl: Season 5, Flash: Season 6, and Arrow: Season 8 (final season).

Marvel’s Runaways was on the looking-forward list a year ago as well. It will probably still get a shot, maybe not until after the final season, its third, has aired.

We cancelled our Cancun trip during my birthday week because Sharon suffered a fall and broke rib #9 on her left side. She swore that she would never eat barbecued ribs ever again. She has since broken that promise as well, at least once that I know of. Her side is still tender nearly four months later, but she’s doing much better. Cancun is being back-burnered for now.

We’re going back to the western Caribbean during the last week in February. We’re sailing out of New Orleans, with Carnival again, but on a new ship. In fact, this was one of the ships that collided with another Carnival ship not too long ago. We’re living dangerously. We’re hitting Jamaica, the Caymans, and Cozumel again, with friends and friends-of-friends.

On April 20, 2020, I’ll be celebrating my fifth anniversary at the US Post Office. It’s hard to believe I’ve been away from retail management as long as I have. I still dream about it.

I’ll keep you updated with our next quadmonthly report in June.

Until then . . . (with apologies to the late Paul Harvey) And now you know the rest of the story.
